Sweet little Nora is turning 1 in a couple of weeks so we went out to take some portraits for her party.  She was so amazed by the beautiful outdoors, it was very hard to get her attention throughout the session but we managed to get some anyways.  Just like any other kid, she is curious about everything that’s around her and loves to talk your ear off.  Here are some pictures of Nora from the session.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! and what’s a better way to ring in the new year than a newborn baby.  Meet Isabell, she is Maddy’s new younger sister.  You can tell Maddy is going to be a great big sister and these 2 girls are going to team up against their parents.  Here are some pictures from the session where Isabell was wide awake and alert the whole time.

We had a quick holiday session for Nicolette so that her parents could send out some Christmas cards.  Although she was a little uncooperative, I managed to get a few useable pictures of her adorable smile and look.

Jacob and Kaiden are now 4 years old and growing fast before our eyes.  Lucky for me, the portrait session every year gets easier and easier as they begin to cooperate more and more.  This year the key was letting them play with my spare camera with the 35mm on it and as long as they could take pictures too, they smiled for me.  After looking through the pictures they both took, they definitely have the natural ability to take use the camera even though most of the pictures were blurry.  Here are some pictures from year 4.

It’s always flattering when previous clients return to you for more photos.  Baby Lucy from a year ago is now talking and walking around like a little person it was fun chasing her around the park.  Here are a couple of photos from the weekend’s session.

We finally got around to taking some family portraits of the Trans after trying to for a couple of months.  The kids are superstar athletes and were heavily involved in fall sports that had the parents driving all over Northern Virginia like crazy.  We had a great time taking pictures in Leesburg before the sun went down and dropped another 10 degrees.

Kids are always so much fun to photograph because you have no idea what they are going to do, all you can do is wait and watch.  Holiday was so full of energy she didn’t know what to do with herself especially in a new environment with so many things to play with and jump on.  With the help of her parents, we were able to take some decent photos of her and her much calmer younger brother Kyler-Preston.

I photographed Lola’s 1st Korean birthday party back in September and we finally got together for their portrait session after several reschedules.  We managed to sneak in a few photos of Dante and Lola even though they very against the idea.

I met up with the Kim family a couple weeks ago to take some family portraits.  Linda had warned me that her eldest son, Ayden, might be a handful but it all turned out well.  We walked around the park and took a few pictures taking advantage of the nice fall day.

Children grow up so fast right before your eyes.  I couldn’t believe Alex’s mom was contacting me for Alex’s 2nd year portraits.  Initially we thought having a session in mid October was a safe bet with the weather but who would have ever thought that it would be 83 degrees and humid like a July summer day.  We all sweated through our clothes but we made it through the session alive even with Alex repeatedly saying “NO” over and over.  Here are a few of the images from the lovely day.

Michael doesn’t walk yet but I can only imagine what kinds of trouble he’s going to cause when he starts.  For someone who can’t walk, he gets from place to place in a jiffy so it was hard to get any still pictures of him but how can you be mad at a kid who is so full of life.  I know his parents are dreading the day he starts walking and running because he will be going all over the place.

While I was vacationing in the OBX, I had to take advantage of the beautiful scenery on the bayside. There was a gorgeous sunset every night so on the last night we rushed out to take some family pictures.
