Scottsdale, AZ Golf Trip

My UVA friends and I took our 2nd annual golf trip last weekend to Scottsdale, Arizona.  The west coast and east reunited for a weekend of fun and golf.  Little did the east coast people know that it would be so cold there when the sun wasn’t up.  We were very shocked to see the weather in the 30s which we thought we escaped from in DC.  Nevertheless we managed to stay warm with high socks and sweatshirts.  Our golf games weren’t that great but the view was nothing but spectacular.  We can’t wait to reunite again for next year’s trip!

It’s always flattering when previous clients return to you for more photos.  Baby Lucy from a year ago is now talking and walking around like a little person it was fun chasing her around the park.  Here are a couple of photos from the weekend’s session.

We finally got around to taking some family portraits of the Trans after trying to for a couple of months.  The kids are superstar athletes and were heavily involved in fall sports that had the parents driving all over Northern Virginia like crazy.  We had a great time taking pictures in Leesburg before the sun went down and dropped another 10 degrees.

Theodora || Korean 1st Birthday

It’s amazing to see the babies you once photographed become little people.  I photographed Cyrus‘ 1st birthday in 2009 and when I went to his little sister’s 1st birthday, he was all grown up doing his own thing in the restaurant.  The party took place at Mokomandy in Sterling, Virginia where they serve Korean-Cajun fusion food.  Everyone enjoyed the food and the desserts as well which were Georgetown cupcakes.  Cyrus had his first bite and immediately fell in love, he said, “daddy, what is this??” HAHAHA…even the smallest taste buds know how fantastic the cupcakes taste.  Daddy couldn’t resist and gave some to Theodora as well and it brought a smile from ear to ear.  Happy Birthday Theodora!

Alyssa + Tom || Virginia Wedding Photographer

The crazy weather almost put a damper on Alyssa and Tom’s wedding but luckily the rain stopped in the late morning hours to resume with the outdoor ceremony.  Love was definitely in the air no matter what the weather was doing outside.  Minus the crazy wind outside, the sunny blue skies with the ridiculous white puffy clouds just made the day picture perfect.  Their group of friends were so energetic, the reception was an all out dance party for 3 straight hours and then some in the hotel bar after the reception was over.  Congrats Alyssa and Tom!!! I had a blast hanging out with you and all your fun friends!
