Explosive Performance

Last week, my brother said he needed my help so I said yea sure.  Little did I know what I would be getting myself into the next day.  My brother is a Training Director for Explosive Performance(EP) at the Tysons Sport & Health.   Explosive Performance provides sport specific training to athletes of various ages.   The training involves increasing the agility, speed, and explosiveness of the athletes.  So if you need some extra training to get to the next level, you should definitely go see these guys.  Not only do they know what they are talking about but are also really nice guys.

Anyways, they are in the process of creating a new website and needed some head shots of the EP trainers for the site.   I’ve never done head shots before so it was definitely a new experience.   I made it through the 14 trainers and we did a casual group shot at the end of their training session.

Canon Rocks!||Sports

So I’ve been working on trying to improve my action taking skills.  The darkness and the speed of the guys makes it a bit difficult but I think I am starting to get the hang of it.  The IS(Image Stabilizer) feature on the 70-200 definitely helps a great deal but I guess a monopod would help too.  I guess I will just stick to trying to improve on my hand held skills of shooting the action in the dark.  Here are some images from this past weekend’s football game.   I brought my cousin to the game but he got bored and started running the perimeter of the football field.

Bye Bye Crumpler

Sadly, I recently had to get rid of this great bag, the crumpler karachi outpost.  Never in a million years did I think I would ever get a rolling bag but I did.  Ultimately, I had no choice because the crumpler was overflowing with my equipment.  I tried to fit as much as I could in there but in the end it was too cluttered.  Luckily, I found a good home for this bag and it will give the new owner a good run.  Nowadays you can see me pulling my think tank around.

Please no rain…||Engagement

Last Friday, I assisted Jennifer Kim at her engagement session out in Georgetown.  Since it had been raining all week, we were worried about the rain during the session but with good fortune there was no rain.  Sadly there was no sun either.  We made the best of it and had fun taking Matt and Justine around the streets of Georgetown.  Congratulations to Matt and Justine…you’re only 2 weeks away from the big day!

Thai and Dani||Wedding

A few weeks ago I attended Thai and Dani’s wedding.  They had the traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony in the morning followed by a reception in the evening.  Witnessing the cultural ceremony is always nice and refreshing since it’s not something you see everyday.  Thai and Dani were surrounded by lots of loving family and friends throughout the day and they seemed to be enjoying the day very much.  Luckily the rain held out until the reception in the evening.   Congratulations to Thai and Dani!
